Location

In the north-east of the island lies the medieval village of Capdepera. The village, which has a population of around 11,500, is characterised by stone houses decorated with flowers, narrow cobbled streets and the magnificent castle complex. The fortress was built in the 13th century to the north above the village on the 159 m high Puig de Capdepera and was restored in an exemplary manner by the municipality after 1983.
