Ariany – A charming village

The small village, in the centre of Mallorca, is located on a hill and is known for its intact nature and peaceful surroundings. With just under 900 inhabitants, Ariany offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy the tranquillity of nature and leave the stress of everyday life behind.

Location

The municipality is part of the central region “Pla de Mallorca”. It is located between the villages of Petra, Sineu and Santa Margalida. In only 15 minutes by car, you can reach the fantastic beach of Can Picafort. The airport is approx. 45 km away. The nearest larger town, Manacor, is about 20 minutes away by car.
The wonderful natural landscape around Ariany also offers a wealth of beautiful paths to explore on foot or by bike.

Shopping, local shops and weekly market

There are several supermarkets, a tobacconist, and a pharmacy. The weekly market is held on Thursdays between 8am and 2pm in the Plaza Mayor. You can buy fresh fruit and vegetables, typical food, fresh flowers, clothes, and shoes at the different stalls.

Places of interest

One of the most appealing attractions is the impressive church of La Mare de Déu de Atotxa. It consists of a portico with three pointed arches, a rose window, and a balustrade as a façade. Over the centuries, the church has been rebuilt and extended. Enjoy an impressive panoramic view of the island plain from here. Another special feature of the municipality are the windmills, of which there are seven in the vicinity. The Molí d’en Marinero is considered the most famous mill.
