Canyamel – A Place With Many Faces

Canyamel is a small and modest holiday location on the east coast of the island of Mallorca. It is part of the municipality of Capdepera.

The resort is surrounded by mighty green hills. The hinterland is perfect for hiking. In addition, it is also suitable for cycling tours and other activities. Even in the summer months, there is not too much hustle and bustle. Away from mass tourism, you can lead a quiet, relaxed life here. Tourists also like to spend some nice, quiet holidays in this area.

Canyamel consists of three settlement areas. These are known to the locals as Cuevas (caves), Playa (beach) and Costa (coast).

Cap Vermell (Cuevas)

On the road to the famous stalactite caves “Coves d`Artà”, past the stylish luxury hotel “Cap Vermell Grand” and the attractive golf course of Canyamel, you reach the exclusive settlement “Cap Vermell”.

Modern villas with a dreamlike view of the azure sea nestle harmoniously into the mountain. A quiet and sophisticated ambience with a lot of privacy is given. Luxurious lifestyle in harmony with nature! We also recommend the gourmet restaurant Vintage 1934, where you can enjoy delicious fish dishes or langoustines with a glass of wine. The magnificent terrace offers you a breathtaking view.

Canyamel Playa

The beautiful sandy beach of Canyamel delights with crystal-clear turquoise water. The centre of the village opens up directly behind it. Here you will find several hotels, residential complexes with flats, terraced houses and detached houses. Various restaurants provide culinary delights. A tranquil pedestrian zone offers small souvenir shops, a small supermarket and a pharmacy. Everything for daily needs is available. In summer you will experience a relaxed holiday ambience and in winter you will enjoy the peace and nature.

Costa Canyamel

This unique urbanisation is nestled in the pine-covered hill “Cap de Pinar”. Discover luxurious villas with magnificent sea views in a loose development. Here you will find unique houses with Mallorcan charm. Of course, you can also admire romantic chalets.

The stone bay “Cala Rotja”, which is popular with the locals, lies at the foot of the residential area. It is definitely worth a trip. The exciting hiking trail up to Puig S’Ovelleta with a magnificent view of the Costa de los Pinos is also recommended.

The restaurants of the two 5-star hotels Pleta de Mar or Can Simoneta offer a culinary experience in the immediate vicinity.

Also visit the old, tin-crowned, 3-storey defence tower “Torre de Canyamel”. Once one of the most important defence towers in Mallorca. Today it offers a restaurant and a small museum. It is also used as a centre for events and art exhibitions.
