Not only for a wonderful excursion, but also for living, we can recommend the beautiful coastal village of Colònia de Sant Pere. The small fishing village is situated at the foot of the coastal mountains of the “Parc Llevant” and is part of the municipality of Artà, in the north-east of the island.

Colònia de Sant Pere captivates with its elegant, very relaxed atmosphere. Here you can still experience the original Mallorca. Enjoy the unobstructed view over the entire bay of Alcudia, to the horizon of the vast Mediterranean Sea and feel the backing and security of the majestic towering mountain range at your back. The “Puig de Ferrutx”, with a height of approx. 523 metres, is the second highest mountain of the Levante mountain range, but due to its striking rock formations it is visible from far away and can be perceived like a landmark for Colònia de Sant Pere.

The long harbour promenade is full of recommendable restaurants and small authentic bars offering all kinds of culinary delights or inviting you to a delicious cocktail – a real sundowner in the evening. Take a walk and enjoy the serenity or the spectacular sunsets that this magical place has to offer.
A walk is worthwhile
The promenade leads from the centre of the village to one side, passing the small marina, via the adjacent settlement of S’Estanyol along the sea and beach up to Son Serra de Marina. On the other side, you will arrive along the sea at the Betlem housing estate, a real insider tip. On your way, discover some hidden coves and, in Son Serra de Marina, a great natural beach with a dune landscape. Colònia de Sant Pere itself also has a small sandy beach that invites you to sunbathe and relax.
Attention sports lovers
The region is a paradise for sports enthusiasts, whether long walks, fantastic hikes in the mountains to the pilgrimage church “Ermita de Betlem”, mountain biking, road cycling or water sports activities, there is plenty on offer here. The golf course between Artà and Capdepera is also only 20 minutes away by car.
Weekly market and surroundings
Every Saturday there is a weekly market. There are several fruit and vegetable stands, clothes vendors and stands with Mallorcan specialities. For a more varied selection, we recommend a visit to the nearest village of Artà (approx. 13.5 km). The village impresses with its year-round infrastructure and offers everything you need for your daily needs. Alcudia (approx. 30 km) is also always worth a visit. Here you will find numerous restaurants, shops and also the historic village centre invites you to stay and discover. The journey time from Colònia de Sant Pere to the airport is approx. 55 min by car.
