Font de Sa Cala is a small settlement with four hotels in the northeast of Mallorca. It belongs to the municipality of Capdepera and is only a few minutes’ drive from Cala Ratjada. It is also easy to reach from Capdepera.

The village is characterised by a picturesque sandy beach (Platja Font de Sa Cala). Not only the holidaymakers of the neighbouring hotels appreciate it. The locals from the surrounding neighbouring villages also like to spend their summer days here. A special feature is that a freshwater spring flows into the sea here. As a result, the water always seems a little less salty and cooler than on other beaches. The fine, light sand and the turquoise blue water offer you an unforgettable bathing experience. The small pine grove located directly on the beach provides shade on hot days. These are perfect conditions to escape the heat for a moment.
An insider tip is the small hidden bay “n’Aladern”. This is a small, somewhat stony sandy beach with crystal clear water. As there is only little space, we advise you to come here early enough in the summer months. It is worth it!
In the immediate surroundings
Font de Sa Cala offers shopping facilities for daily needs during the tourist season. There are also small restaurants. Otherwise, the settlement is more relaxed. It is characterised by second homes. In the surrounding area, golfers and nature lovers will find what they are looking for. The historic villages of Capdepera and Artà are 5 to 10 minutes away by car. There you can enjoy Mallorcan ambience. In the narrow alleys and on the village squares, locals and newcomers like to meet over a “café con leche”. Sometimes it may also be a “Tinto de verano”. The tourist village of Cala Ratjada offers everything your heart desires. Sandy beaches, numerous water sports, horseback riding, tennis, biking, as well as a culinary variety and nightlife are just a few options.
Around Font de Sa Cala there are signposted hiking trails that lead through pine forests and along the coast. These connect the small village with other surrounding villages and excursion destinations, such as Canyamel. While hiking or cycling, you can experience a pleasant silence in the midst of nature and enjoy first-class views.
